On Saturday, June 20, 2015, Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer attorneys, staff and family members helped work on a new home being constructed in Gentilly by the St. Bernard Project (SBP).
The SBP was founded in March 2006 and has grown from a three-person volunteer team into a nationally recognized leader in disaster resilience and recovery. SBP relies upon corporate and individual donors and volunteers to perform its mission to ensure that disaster-impacted citizens and communities recover in a prompt, efficient and predictable manner. Below are some photos of the work completed by our group of 15 volunteers, which exemplify our continuing efforts to give back to our community ten years after Katrina.
Since its founding in 2006, SBP has rebuilt homes for over 900 families with the help of 100,000 volunteers in New Orleans, Joplin, MO, Staten Island, NY, Rockaway, NY and Monmouth County, NJ. For more information on the St. Bernard Project visit http://www.stbernardproject.org/.
