Brian Johnson is a New Jersey native who attended Dartmouth College in New Hampshire where he was an offensive guard on the football team and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Government. Upon graduating, Brian made the move to New Orleans to attend the Tulane University School of Law. After starting his career with a Manhattan law firm, he returned to New Orleans in 2004 to practice law.
Brian’s practice at Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer primarily involves real estate, banking, and commercial finance. He represents lenders and borrowers in commercial finance transactions, troubled debt restructuring, and debt enforcement actions. He also represents lenders and developers in connection with the acquisition, sale, development, and financing of developed and undeveloped properties and represents lessors and lessees in the preparation and negotiation of commercial and residential leases. In addition, Brian is a licensed title insurance agent in Louisiana and writes title for First American Title Insurance Company. Since 2014, Brian has been recognized by New Orleans Magazine as one of their “Top Lawyers of New Orleans” for his work in Real Estate Law.
Although his football pads are packed up, Brian still enjoys watching the sport, cheering on the Saints, Jets and LSU Tigers. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, CrossFit, and spending time with his wife and two young daughters.
