As we enter a new year, we find ourselves reflecting on all of the things for which we are grateful. Our relationship with you is something we truly value. Thank you for the partnership, the friendship and the opportunity to work together. We wish you much success in 2018.
2017 was an exciting year at BHBM with the addition of five highly credentialed and energetic attorneys with diverse practice areas. The firm’s upcoming 104th year in New Orleans should prove to be one filled with further growth and expansion, while continuing to provide core services in maritime and commercial litigation and tax, transactional and estate planning. Our mission statement reflects the firm’s continuing commitment to our clients, the legal profession and the people we work with and for. BHBM will continue its strong commitment to the community and its efforts to make the firm a place where all want to be.
In 2017, the firm embarked on a project to identify our primary aims and values. The result consists of a simple sentence – our firm’s mission statement – which is supported by four cornerstones.
Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer’s mission is to be a client-focused organization, recognized for providing the highest level of legal services, resulting in long-term relationships.
The cornerstones of our firm’s existence are:
In 2017, the firm welcomed five new attorneys to the practice. Please join us in welcoming them to the firm.
Leon Rittenberg, Jr., a partner with the firm since 1994 and a practicing attorney of over 55 years, has announced his retirement from the practice of law effective December 31, 2017.
In addition to being a leader within the firm for many years, Mr. Rittenberg has served as a leader and an advocate in the community with his many charitable contributions. His past roles have included serving as president of the Jewish Endowment Foundation and also of the Board of Trustees of Touro Synagogue. He has also served as chairman of Metairie Park Country Day School, director of the Louisiana Bar Foundation and as a member of the Louisiana Bar Association’s Ethics Advisory Council.
At Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer, we encourage one another to not just be “In the Community,” but “Of the Community.” Whether individually or as a collective, we are committed to giving back to the place we’ve called home for over 100 years. Here are just a few notes from 2017:
In November, the firm hosted its inaugural BHBM T-shirt Pitch Competition. The contest invited everyone in the office to come up with an idea for this year’s t-shirt theme, with the top three ideas advancing to a firm-wide pitch competition.
