Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer is pleased to announce that Matt Miller has returned to the firm as a partner.
Matt Miller is a native New Orleanian who clerked at Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer while earning his law degree with a Certificate in Taxation from Loyola University New Orleans’ College of Law. He joined the firm as an attorney in the summer of 2009, upon completing his LL.M. in Taxation at New York University. Prior to becoming an attorney, Matt worked in the tax department of a local accounting firm.
Matt’s law practice involves representation in the areas of taxation, mergers & acquisitions and estate planning. Matt advises clients on all aspects of federal and state taxation. He also represents businesses and business owners in a variety of acquisitions and dispositions, including sales to private equity funds. In addition, Matt represents a number of startup companies and assists them throughout their entire life cycle. Matt is a board certified tax law specialist, as certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization, who has been recognized by Super Lawyers for his work in tax law since 2014. He is a frequent speaker on tax and merger and acquisition topics throughout Louisiana.
Matt currently serves as the vice president of membership for the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and is heavily involved with the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, currently serving as a Young Professional Steering Committee Member for the organization. Outside of the business arena, Matt enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his wife and their two kids.
