John A. Stewart, Jr.
John A. Stewart, Jr. is a New Orleans native and De La Salle High School graduate. He attended Loyola University College of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 1977. John later returned to school, attending Tulane University School of Law, where he received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Energy and Environment. He is admitted to practice before all Louisiana courts, Texas and Colorado state courts.
John has been practicing law for more than 30 years and joined Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer in 2010. His experience includes the trial of environmental, toxic tort, insurance and construction claims, along with the representation of architects, engineers, doctors and lawyers in the defense of malpractice claims. Prior to his practice, John was the manager of the New Orleans District of the Associated General Contractors of Louisiana.
John has been recognized as one of New Orleans Magazine’s “Top Lawyers of New Orleans” for his work in construction law.
