Alex Aughtry is an Atlanta native who moved to New Orleans in 2003 to attend Tulane University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English Writing and a Master of Social Work. In 2016, she graduated cum laude from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University and was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar later that year. She is also admitted to practice in the US District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, as well as in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Alex joined Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer as a law clerk in 2015 and now practices primarily in the areas of maritime, personal injury insurance defense and civil litigation. She has recently given presentations to the Association of Corporate Counsel on ethical issues arising in the tripartite relationship between outside counsel, insurers and their insureds, as well as to the NBI on managing and minimizing subrogation liens in auto accident cases.

Outside of the office, Alex enjoys spending time with her English black lab Zulu and listening to New Orleans’ live music offerings.
